It was a gorgeous Wednesday night in Bergen County, and at first pitch, it was obvious there was the smell of victory in the air for both clubs. It was a true pitching duel between Oddo Law’s Charlie Racine and Butzel, Karadimas, Carrabba & Testin’s TJ Buono. By the 3rd, Oddo Law was up by one. The hits and plays kept coming. It was battle of true baseball talent, and by the 5th inning, Oddo Law took a 2-0 lead. Reliever Matt Quinn shut down their opponent, and in the 6th, he collected a save and secured victory for the now American League Champs.

We wanted bring more people out to the fields and we even brought in live entertainment to Muehleck for the American League match-ups. We hosted the River Edge Orioles in a game against Butzel, Karadimas, Carrabba & Testin. Something that has never been done before on Opening Day. We even opened 2 games with some truly talented musicians, both 7th graders, who came back to the Little League program to share some unique talent.

For some Oradell Little Leaguers, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" has taken on a whole new meaning. The players recently showed their charitable intentions by helping the less fortunate and taking part in a project to equip them for games. League representatives had a hand in asking the Oradell Rotary Club to help them donate some slightly used equipment to youth recreation programs in Paterson and New York. The Rotary Club was in the midst of cleaning out their storeroom, when they received a request from the equipment committee for used gear that might have otherwise been thrown out.
